Julie Cox elected Wyboston Borough Councillor

A by-election for the seat took place yesterday

Conservative candidate Julie Cox has been elected as the Councillor for Wyboston ward for Bedfordshire Borough Council, after yesterday's by-election.

The Conservative Party now hold 14 seats on the Borough Council, with 14 seats for Labour Party, 13 for Liberal Democrat, 3 for Green Party and 2 for Independents.

Julie Cox received 610 votes, Liberal Democrat candidate Thomas Townsend won 323 votes, and Labour candidate Ian Nicholls received 34.

The council is in no overall control after the by-election which saw a 34% turnout.

5 ballot papers were rejected.
