Teenage boy remains in a "life threatening condition" in hospital following incident in Luton
Detectives are continuing their investigations after the 17-year-old suffered a serious head injury
A teenage boy remains in hospital in a critical condition as police continue to appeal for information about an incident in Luton.
Detectives are trying to piece together exactly what happened to the 17-year-old boy from London in the early hours of Thursday morning (2 June) in the Telford Way area.
Police were called at around 1.20am after the boy was found lying injured in New Bedford Road, close to Telford Way, in what was initially believed to be a hit and run.
Enquiries have established that the teenager was with others in the Crawley Road car park a short time before this.
One of these people was then seen outside the Dominos in the Crystal House complex of shops, while the victim and others went under the nearby bridge towards Luton railway station.
The victim was found with a serious head injury and remains in a life threatening condition.
Detective Sergeant Tom Hamm, leading the investigation, said: "Even at this time of night, this is a busy area of Luton and we know there were many vehicles around when these events took place.
"Sadly, we know that this boy has suffered life changing injuries. We owe it to him and his family to fully investigate this and find out exactly what happened.
"Any information would help. If you were driving on Telford Way, parked in Crawley Road, or have any other information or context which can help us, please get in touch."
