Investigation launched following stabbing in High Wycombe

A teenager was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries

Thames Valley Police is investigating an assault in High Wycombe following a stabbing.

The incident happened around 1.35am today (01/08), and officers were called to Amersham Road at the junction with the A404.

A teenage girl was stabbed at the scene, causing life-threatening injuries which required hospital treatment, where she remains, and a 17-year-old girl from High Wycombe has since been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent.

The victim's condition is being monitored and her next of kin have been informed.

The investigation is ongoing and officers are expected to remain at the scene today and into tomorrow.

Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Philip Turner-Robson said: “I appreciate the circumstances of this incident may be concerning but we believe it was a targeted attack with no threat to the wider public.

“We have already made one arrest and continue to investigate this as a priority.

“Thank you for your patience whilst carry out this investigation.
