Fire crews are currently battling a large blaze at a warehouse complex on the Essex/Hertfordshire border. The fire, which broke out earlier today at around 11am on Stubbins Hall Lane, Nazeing, has seen three industrial units go up in flames.

Firefighters from several stations, including Waltham Abbey, Loughton, Epping, Harlow, and Cheshunt (Hertfordshire), as well as two units from Enfield (London), have responded to the emergency. In addition, an Aerial Ladder Platform (from Grays), a Water Bowser (from Corringham), and an Incident Command Unit (from Witham) have been deployed to the scene.

Group Manager Mark Eaglestone provided an update, stating: "Three industrial units are completely alight. Crews are making good progress, but we expect to be here for several hours."

He also confirmed that Essex Fire and Rescue is working in close collaboration with the Environment Agency to protect nearby water courses and with Essex Police, who have closed several roads in the vicinity.

"We would urge residents to keep their doors and windows closed as the incident is producing a lot of smoke, and to stay away from the area," Eaglestone advised.

Once the fire is fully extinguished, an investigation will be carried out to determine the cause of the blaze.
