Luton man guilty of murder after stabbing and fleeing to Aylesbury
Yasar Hussain was arrested at an Air B&B in Aylesbury after fleeing the scene of a fatal stabbing in Luton in August 2024.
A man has been found guilty of murder after fatally stabbing another man in Luton and trying to avoid arrest by hiding in an Air B&B in Aylesbury.
Yasar Hussain, aged 27, was convicted today (20 May) at Luton Crown Court for the murder of 53-year-old David Dosa.
CCTV footage showed Hussain travelling from his home in Cades Close to David Dosa’s flat in Farley Court on 15 August 2024. The same footage captured him running out of the building shortly after following David inside.
Emergency services were called to the scene, but David was pronounced dead at the flat.
Following the incident, Hussain attempted to hide evidence by resetting his mobile phone and destroying the SIM card. He then arranged to stay in an Air B&B in Aylesbury, where police located and arrested him days later.
Detective Chief Inspector Nick Gardner from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit said:
“Firstly, our thoughts are with David Dosa’s family at this time. Ultimately, we may never know why this tragic incident happened. There is no certainty as to why Yasar Hussain had a disagreement with David Dosa, leading to a loss of life and a man now facing many years behind bars.”
He added: “Thanks to the hard work of our officers, Hussain was arrested just days after the incident, despite his best efforts to frustrate our efforts. I’m pleased he’s now been brought to justice and will be made to suffer the consequences of his actions.
“There is no justification, no excuse, and no hiding place for individuals who bring fear and violence into our communities.”
Hussain will be sentenced at a later date.
