An anti-HS2 march is being held in Aylesbury this morning.
A protest march has been organised in Aylesbury against HS2 Ltd and the tree felling activities in the area.
Locals were asked to meet at 9am at the football pitches car park and walk along the Oxford Road footpath between the Coldharbour roundabout and the Bugle Horn.
Organisers have highlighted the goal is to have a peaceful march, not disturbing traffic or construction workers.
Campaigners have been walking along the A418 as trees are cleared.
HS2 contractors didn't appear to be working first thing and security teams have turned up, asking protesters to leave as of 10.30am.
An HS2 Ltd spokesperson said:
"The construction of HS2 will help Britain fight climate change by getting people out of cars, off domestic flights and onto high speed trains. HS2 is already playing a crucial role in the post-pandemic economic recovery, supporting and creating thousands of jobs and business opportunities which will continue into the next decade and beyond as the railway extends north.
"HS2 take the environmental cost of construction very seriously, which is why we're delivering an unprecedented programme of tree planting and habitat creation alongside the new railway - with up to seven million new trees and shrubs set to be planted between London and Birmingham alone.
"We are currently working alongside the Oxford Road and in the interests of safety, we would ask that people do not block traffic or attempt to interfere with the work."More as we get it
