Police have extra powers to stop and search people in High Wycombe today after two men were stabbed and another was hit by a car.
Officers were called to the Castlefield area of the town at around 5:20pm on Saturday afternoon (1st March).
They've have enacted a Section 60 order- which means they can stop and search anyone in the area (see picture below) until the end of the day, but it could be extended if necessary.
There'll also be an increased police presence while investigations continue.
The three victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and one arrest has been made
Thames Valley Police posted on Facebook: "We have enacted a Section 60 order in High Wycombe this evening following an incident of disorder.
"We are still in the early stages and you will see an increased police presence in the Castlefield area while we investigate.
"The order temporarily enhances powers for our officers to prevent further violence, meaning they can stop and search anyone in the area defined by the map below.
"The order will be in place for 24 hours, but could be extended if deemed necessary.
"These are emergency powers and the threshold to implement them is very high, however we are using them to keep our communities safe.
"If you are stopped by an officer, please do not be worried as this does not mean that you are in trouble. If you are in the area and have any concerns, you can speak to any of our officers who will be on patrol throughout this evening and tomorrow.
"Anyone with information about the incident then please call 101 or make a report on our website, quoting reference 1647 of today."
