Herts Police and Crime Commissioner re-elected

The results are in for the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) elections in Hertfordshire.

Conservative and Unionist Party candidate David Lloyd has been re-elected.

The results of Thursday's (6 May) local elections have been confirmed today (10 May).

PCCs are elected by the public to be the voice of the people and hold the police to account.

They also aim to cut crime and deliver an "effective and efficient" police service, according to the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners.

Meanwhile in Bedfordshire, Festus Akinbusoye (Conservative and Unionist Party) has been elected, replacing previous Conservative PCC Kathryn Holloway.

He won with a total of 59,793 votes.

Turnout was 24.9%.

Thames Valley's new PCC has been confirmed as Matthew Barber, who has served as Depute PCC for four years.
