Three Rivers Council best in the country for recycling
63.5% of household waste is sent for recycling, reuse or composting
The Three Rivers council in Hertfordshire has been named as the best council for recycling, with almost 65% of household waste being recycled, reused, or composted.
The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) says the top five recycling councils in the country are all districts.
The top three councils for having the lowest amount of waste which is not recycled or composted per household are all district councils.
It comes with extra efforts being made to crack down on anti-social behaviour, including littering and fly tipping, across the country.
