Hertfordshire man jailed for attempted burglary and vehicle interference
He has been jailed for nearly four years
A 44-year-old man has been sentenced to three years and ten weeks in prison for a number of offences in Hemel Hempstead.
Lee Eary, of Wood Lane End, was convicted of three counts of attempted burglary and one count of vehicle interference.
He committed the offences overnight between 17 April and 18 April this year in the Leverstock Green area.
In many of the incidents the victims’ doorbell cameras captured him trying and failing to gain access to their properties and vehicles.
Following the sentencing on Tuesday 20 July, investigating officer PC Sarah Scanlon said:
“Eary has shown us that he has no qualms about stealing from hard-working people in the community.
“I am pleased he has received a custodial sentence for his crimes, meaning residents in Hemel Hempstead no longer have to worry about being targeted by Eary.
“This case is an excellent example of doorbell cameras’ value in protecting your property, as the footage often provides police and partners with evidence in our investigations.”
The offences were in breach of two separate Suspended Sentence Orders previously imposed on the 44-year-old.
