A partial closure order has been secured for a property in Hemel Hempstead following reports of persistent anti-social behaviour and drug use.

The order was granted at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 11 November and prevents anyone except the named tenant from entering the address in the Grovehill area for three months.

Anyone who breaches the order faces arrest.

Sergeant Chris Bignell, from the Dacorum Community Safety Unit, said: “We’d receive numerous complaints regarding the behaviour of visitors to the address, including people constantly turning up throughout the day and night, people being assaulted and drug use. This was causing fear among the local community and also putting the tenant at risk.

“As a result, police and partner agencies, including Clarion Housing, have worked together to ensure that the vulnerable tenant can remain in their home, while also providing some respite to residents who have suffered.

“I hope this sends a clear message to those intent on causing misery among local communities that this behaviour will not be tolerated and we will do all we can to prevent it.

“If you are experiencing similar behaviour in your neighbourhood, please continue to report it. Every call helps us build up the intelligence we need to take action.”
