Hemel Hempstead man jailed for more than 10 years for dealing cocaine and heroin
A man from Hemel Hempstead has been sentenced to over 10 years in prison after being found guilty of dealing cocaine and heroin.
John Achiman, aged 42, of Marlowes in Hemel Hempstead, was arrested earlier this year following a long-running investigation by Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Operation Relentless team.
The investigation revealed Achiman’s involvement in a gang that supplied cocaine and heroin in the Hemel Hempstead area from May 2024 until his arrest in April 2025. Officers seized half a kilo of cocaine and £7,000 in cash as part of their operation.
Achiman appeared at Luton Crown Court on Friday, 28th November 2023, where he was sentenced to 10 years and four months in prison for 16 counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Operation Relentless team uncovered evidence over several months of Achiman’s involvement in distributing class A drugs.
A spokesperson from the team said: “Achiman was the principal member of the gang, involved in distributing cocaine across Hemel Hempstead and surrounding areas.
“We conducted an in-depth investigation into the gang’s activities, compiling evidence over several months. We will not leave any stone unturned in pursuing these kinds of organised crime groups that deal drugs and exploit vulnerable people.
“The removal of a significant amount of hard drugs from the streets will make our communities safer and reduce associated crime and violence. This operation was the result of intelligence supplied by the community. If you have information about drug dealing, tell us and we will deal with those responsible.”
