Halloween festivities over at historic Wycombe venue, now set to welcome film crews
Hellfire Caves has been the set of several TV shows and films, including the latest Beetlejuice movie
The Hellfire Caves, a historic underground attraction nestled in Buckinghamshire, is gearing up for a season filled with themed events, making it a popular spot not only for visitors but for filmmakers as well.
The caves, known for their Gothic architecture and atmospheric passages, have seen a surge of interest from film and television producers, including notable recent projects.
Ray, Manager of the Caves, said: "We've just had the latest Beetlejuice film with Tim Burton filming here last year.
"The place itself is a gorgeous Gothic building, so it’s extremely atmospheric."
Other productions include Cruella and the popular British series Midsomer Murders.
Alongside its appeal for filmmakers, the Hellfire Caves are increasingly attracting visitors of all ages, with a varied lineup of events and tours.
This October, the caves hosted their annual Halloween event, which has become a highlight for the local community.
"Our biggest event of the year is our Fright Nights," Ray explained.
"We have spooky walks and slight frights to cater to everyone."
The Fright Nights experience, which includes jump scares and actors throughout the caves, is designed for older visitors.
However, the attraction also offers less intense activities for families with younger children, including scavenger hunts and themed parties.
Ray said: "We’re really trying to focus on the community and bring more kids in.
“The caves are amazing, and we’re getting a lot of TLC put into them, with new kid-friendly signs and possibly interactive elements to make it more engaging for children."
The Hellfire Caves also anticipate their second-biggest event of the year with Santa’s Grotto, scheduled to open in December, featuring the Grinch.
While the Caves' primary purpose remains historic tours, the location is increasingly popular among influencers and paranormal enthusiasts.
"We've had a huge YouTuber following," Ray said.
"With YouTubers and influencers, it's become a real hotspot, especially for ghost-hunting content."
