Two men have been arrested after a raid on Wednesday morning
Two guns have been found at a house in Leighton Buzzard .
Police raided a house on Lake Street yesterday morning, as part of an investigation into the supply of firearms.
Two men, one in their 20s and one in their 30s, were arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms and taken into custody for further questioning.
Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) teams were supported by resources from Bedfordshire Police, Metropolitan Police, and Essex Police.
Detective Chief Inspector Trevor Davidson said:
"It goes without saying that illegal firearms present a real danger in our communities, and this result follows significant work by a number of law enforcement agencies.
"We are committed to ensuring illegal firearms aren't able to make it onto our streets and I have no doubt seizing these weapons has stopped future casualties."
Detective Chief Inspector Louisa Glynn, from Bedfordshire Police, said:
"Bedfordshire continues to face significant challenges around serious violence, exploitation and organised crime.
"We will work with other law enforcement agencies and other partners to tackle organised crime on the front foot.
"But it is only through our communities reporting things to us or to Crimestoppers that we can truly tackle these issues and get drugs, guns and other weapons off the streets."
