Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an incident in Bedmond.

It’s believed that at around 3.25pm on Thursday (23 November), a 10-year-old boy was approached by three unknown teenagers on bicycles as he walked along the High Street.

The group began to engage the boy in conversation. As they approached the vicinity of Bedmond stores, one of the males reportedly produced a weapon from a backpack and asked the victim to remove his bag.

As the victim did so, the teenager said he was “only joking” and told the boy to put his bag back on.

The boy then left the area.

Police describe two of the teenagers, the first white male, with freckles dressed in black; the second, white male, with brown hair, wearing a black jumper. Police would to speak with anyone who may have seen them at the time in the area.

Detective Inspector Manjit Khela said:

“We understand that this incident will cause a great deal of concern among the local community. Thankfully the boy was not hurt, and nothing was taken, but he was understandably left very frightened.
