Free funding for Bucks residents to save on bills

Householders urged to take up free opportunity to cut energy costs

Those on low incomes in Buckinghamshire, who are on low incomes, are being urged to take up an offer of free funding to make improvements to their homes. The grants, which are funded by central government, are aimed at those who's houses have a poor performance rating .

To qualify for a grant, homes should have an EPC rating of D, E, F or G. The household annual income should also be no more than £30,000. You'd also qualify if you are on means tested benefits

Types of improvements include:

• Insulation and ventilation

• An upgrade to a low carbon heating system such as an air source heat pump

• Energy efficient hot water solutions

• Energy efficient lighting

For owner occupiers, the work will be carried out for free. For rental properties (whether private or social), the landlord will be expected to pay at least one third of the cost towards the work.
