A glider pilot has died in a crash in Dunstable.

Police were called at around 12.30pm yesterday (Wednesday) to reports of a Glider crash

Alongside the Air Accident Investigation Team, emergency services attended the scene where a man in his 40s was pronounced dead at scene.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch are completing an investigation in relation to safety and the BCH Serious Collision Investigation Unit are also investigating.

The air accident investigation branch say: "The AAIB has launched an investigation into a glider accident earlier today at Dunstable Downs Airfield, Bedfordshire. A team of inspectors travelled to the site this afternoon to examine the glider and begin gathering evidence".
