Further rainfall leads to flooding concerns across Bucks Beds and Herts
Safety messaging has been issued to support residents
Residents across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire are being urged to prepare for potential flooding after another night of heavy rainfall.
Travel is expected to be disrupted across parts of the three counties this morning, as localised flooding could be affecting roads and public transport.
Hertfordshire County Council and their partners have warned of more rain predicted to fall this morning, urging their residents to take extra care when travelling on the roads and not to walk through or drive through floodwater.
Last week in the county respite centres were set up, with areas such as Hitchin affected by localised flooding, where 45 homes were flooded due to heavy rainfall.
Central Bedfordshire Council also are warning of the risks on the roads this morning, with multiple flood warnings in the area still in place.
The council's reminding parents that any school closures will be issued through their usual platforms, as well as updating their school closure systems.
Anyone who has been made homeless due to the flooding can call for support and advice.
45mm of rain fell in places in Bedfordshire overnight last Thursday, indicating record-breaking amounts of rain this month in Bedfordshire.
During the week the council responded to over 70 reports of flooded homes and set up a 24-hour emergency contact centre.
Residents are being reminded to call 999 when there is a threat to life.
