Five teenagers charged after robbery and kidnap in Hatfield

The group assaulted the victim, stole his phone and possessions, and then forced him to go to an ATM

Five teenagers have been charged following a robbery and kidnap incident reported on the Alban Way in Hatfield.

The incident occurred at approximately 3.30pm on Sunday 16th November, when a teenage boy was approached by five other teens.

According to police, the group assaulted the victim, stole his phone and possessions, and then forced him to go to an ATM and demanded his PIN to withdraw money from his account.

All five suspects were arrested later that day.

Police have confirmed that the following individuals have been charged in connection with the incident:

  • A 16-year-old boy from Hatfield has been charged with robbery, kidnap, and possession of Class A and B drugs
  • A 16-year-old boy from Hatfield has been charged with robbery and kidnap
  • A 16-year-old boy from Grays in Essex has been charged with robbery and kidnap
  • A 16-year-old boy from Luton in Bedfordshire has been charged with robbery and kidnap
  • A 17-year-old boy from Hatfield has been charged with robbery and kidnap

The teens appeared at Hatfield Remand Court on Tuesday 18th November.

They have since been granted bail and are scheduled to appear at St Albans Youth Court on Wednesday 26th November.
