Figures show the number of officers accused of sexual misconduct at Thames Valley Police

The latest report from the force shows the period from February 2020 to December 2023.

The force covering Buckinghamshire, Thames Valley Police have released the figures. It's part of a commitment to transparency.

The figures show the number of officers accused over sexual misconduct. The report covers all police staff from February 2020 to December 2023.

It shows 40 officers, former officers, and staff were disciplined over the course of the report. 24 of those being serving officers.

Seven rapes by serving officers have been reported.

It's unclear of the outcome of those reports.

The number of police officers or staff that were or are subject of the allegations of sexual misconduct since February 2020 is 178.

Police say 40 allegations (19%) are still being investigated.

Thames Valley Police say the increase in previous years shows that confidence is starting to increase in the reporting of these allegations.

A spokesperson says they take a zero tolerance approach to sexual misconduct within our workforce.

They add they now have dedicated staff support groups plus an independent advisor to support domestic abuse victims.

Extra extra detective resources have been brought into the team which investigates complaints about the workforce.
