A man's died after the car he was driving crashed into a block of flats in Hemel Hempstead.

Police were called to Ninian Road in Grovehill around 9.10pm on Friday 16th December to reports a grey Peugeot 307 had collided with a block of flats.

The force says it doesn't know why the car crashed at the moment but investigations are ongoing to find out what happened.

The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital but sadly passed away.

No one else was injured.

Sergeant Tim Davies from the Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this devastating time and specialist officers are currently supporting his next of kin.

“We are working to establish the circumstances surrounding this collision and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or believes they saw the vehicle in the area shortly before the collision to get in touch.”
