Women in 90s dies after crash in Dunstable

Police are appealing for witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman in her 90s died after being hit by a car in Dunstable.

Bedfordshire Police say there were called just after 16:50 to reports of a collision between a white Ford Ecosport and a pedestrian in Poynters Road, Dunstable.

Emergency services attended the collision, however the pedestrian, a woman in her 90s, sadly died shortly after.

Her next of kin has been informed and police say they are being supported by specialist officers.

Sergeant James Carmichael from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit said: “This is a deeply tragic incident, especially considering the time of year. Our sincere sympathies are with the friends and family of the woman who died.

“We are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has any dashcam footage to please get in touch with us as a matter of urgency to help our investigation.”
