The family of a woman who sadly passed away on New Year’s Eve following a road traffic collision in St Albans have paid tribute.

In a statement, the family said: “On Friday 1st December 2023, Teresa Hambridge, 71, from St Albans, was tragically hit by a vehicle when crossing the road in the Fleetville area of the city.

“After being airlifted to the Royal London Hospital, and putting up a brave battle, very sadly she passed away on Sunday 31st December due to her injuries.

“We would like to extend a huge thank you to all of the nurses and doctors at the hospital for the first-class care she received.

“She was an extremely kind and caring person who always put others before herself. She was a wonderful wife, a caring sister, a dedicated and loving mother and a besotted grandmother.

“Teresa enjoyed her career as teaching assistant at Beaumont Secondary School, where she is fondly remembered. She was a gifted artist, attending various local art groups over the years, and had a deep love of nature and animals.

“Her family and friends meant everything to her, and she will be very sorely missed by them all.

“Teresa’s funeral will take place on Thursday 8th February at 10am at St Alban and St Stephen Catholic Church, AL1 3RB.”
