Tributes are being paid to a 55-year-old man who sadly died after a fatal crash on the M1 in Hertfordshire.

On the evening of April 1st, Darren Reilly was travelling along the southbound carriageway near Watford, when the car he was in left the motorway and collided with trees.

18-year-old Tyler Cox also sadly died in the collision.

In a tribute to their Dad, Darren's two daughters said:

“Our dad was a brilliant dad. In fact, the best dad who loved us with all his heart.

“He would do anything for anyone in his heart and made sure he went above and beyond for his own. He lived life to the absolute max. In his 55 years he did more than anyone else could manage in two lifetimes.

“Dad had the biggest personality, the biggest heart and when he was passionate about something, everyone knew. He was the most spontaneous man and such a loveable rogue.

“He will be missed by his friends, family and everyone that knew him. He leaves a large void in our family, a void that will never be filled.”

The family have asked for privacy.

Five people were in the car at the time of the crash, with one woman in hospital with serious injuries.

Two others - a man and a woman - are recovering at home. Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses information and footage.
