A man has been taken to hospital after an explosion and fire at a bungalow in Stone.

It happened at around 2.25pm today (11 January) in Bishopstone Road.

Earlier, there was a large presence of police, fire and ambulance crews.

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed three appliances and crews from Aylesbury, one from Amersham, one from High Wycombe, one from Thame, one from Wheatley and four officers attended the scene.

Firefighters used two hose reels, six sets of breathing apparatus and thermal imaging cameras.

The service added a man was injured and taken to hospital, and a woman suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke was assessed by South Central Ambulance Service.

An adjacent property was also damaged.

Bucks Fire has said an investigation is now taking place into the cause of the fire.
