Luton Airport has confirmed it remains 'open and operational,' despite a rare red weather warning now being in force across parts of Bucks, Beds and Herts.

Forecasters are urging people within the area not to leave the house unless it's essential.

Flying debris and falling trees cause a "significant threat to life," the Met Office says.

The rare red weather warning is in place covering part of Bucks, Beds and Herts

In a statement posted on social media, London Luton Airport says: 'The airport is open and operational but there may be some disruption to flights and other transport services today due to #StormEunice.

'Please check with your airline for updates and follow the latest travel advice before leaving for the airport.'
