An elderly man has died after a crash in Hatfield.

Hertfordshire Police were called to the collision between a mobility scooter and a silver Kia last Thursday morning, around 9am.

A 79-year-old man, driving the scooter, was involved in the crash on the traffic light-controlled crossing by the shopping centre on Queensway.

Despite treatment from paramedics, he sadly died a short time later.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Dale Morris from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “We are appealing for anyone who was driving in the area at the time, with a dash cam in operation, to check their camera and get in touch if they have any footage which could be useful to our investigation.

“We are also keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and who witnessed the collision to also contact us.”
