E-fits released after jogger attacked in Amersham woodland
She had tried to help another woman who had been grabbed around the throat
After a jogger tried to help a woman being grabbed by the throat in Amersham and was then assaulted herself, an e-fit has been released.
She had seen the man arguing and then attacking the other woman - he then pulled a pen knife on her.
It happened in Rogers Wood on 23rd May.
The force previously released an E-fit image of an offender involved in an incident in Rodgers Wood in May.
They have re-released this E-fit, along with a second E-fit image of one of the victims in the offence.
What happend?
At 10.30am on Sunday 23 May this year, a woman aged in her thirties was jogging in Rodgers Wood, Amersham, adjacent to the A413 and A355, when she began approaching a man and woman, who were in a verbal argument with each other.
As the woman ran by them, she noticed the man grab hold of the woman by her throat.
The jogger tried to intervene when this happened, but the man threw something towards her which hit her in the head before then producing a pen knife.
This led to a minor scuffle with the jogger sustaining a cut to her hand for which hospital treatment was not required.
The offender, who is depicted in the E-fit image, is described as a white man, with short and dark coloured hair, of medium build. He was dressed in a North Face rain jacket in a dark colour, believed to be black or navy. He was also wearing hiking shoes.
The force is now releasing an E-fit image of the woman who was grabbed by the offender before he jogger tried to intervene, in the hope that it will help with the appeal for witnesses.
Investigating officer, PC Ben Flaherty, of Amersham police station, said:
“I am again releasing the original E-fit that was circulated of the offender in this incident, but also now releasing an E-fit of the woman he was with at the time, who the jogger observed to be grabbed by the throat.
“I hope that re-releasing the original E-fit, and a new one too, will assist with any witnesses to this incident, but also someone that may recognise either or both people depicted.
