Dunstable murder victim named by police as man charged

Bedfordshire Police have named the victim of a murder in Dunstable which took place on Thursday (January 23rd).

Officers have now confirmed that the victim of the murder was 84-year-old Margaret Worby, from Kingsbury Avenue in Dunstable.

Police were called to the property just after 1:40pm following reports that a woman had been seriously injured.

Emergency services were called to the house, but despite their best efforts, she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers have now arrested 83-year-old Roger Worby, also of Kingsbury Avenue in Dunstable, and charged him with her murder.

Roger appeared before Luton Magistrates' Court on Saturday (January 25th), and was remanded into police custody to appear before Luton Crown Court on Tuesday (January 28th).

Meanwhile, Bedfordshire Police have launched an appeal for the information into the crash, with anyone having relevant information being urged to call 101, quoting Operation Eisele.
