A drugdealer from Luton has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for his involvement in drug deals worth hundreds of thousands of pounds
Bedfordshire Police say the sentencing of Naqash Ali, aged 33, of Claremont Road, Luton, is part of their ongoing efforts against serious and organised crime.
Ali, convicted of conspiracy to supply cocaine and conspiracy to possess a firearm, was apprehended in May 2020 after being linked to individuals suspected of drug-related activities.
Although initially released without charge, further investigation following Operation Venetic, an international operation targeting criminal networks using encrypted communication devices, revealed Ali's extensive involvement in drug and firearm trafficking.
According to evidence retrieved from an encrypted device, Ali was engaged in the purchase and sale of multiple kilograms of cocaine.
In one exchange, he requested two kilos of cocaine and discussed a payment of £100,000 for the following week.
Additionally, Ali was found to have sought handguns for purchase, indicating a willingness to engage in violence.
Gary Hales, representing Bedfordshire Police's Operation Costello, expressed satisfaction with the sentence, emphasizing the severity of Ali's crimes and the dangers posed by his activities.
Hales reiterated the commitment of law enforcement to pursue and prosecute individuals involved in organised crime, warning that no one is exempt from accountability.
