Police appeal after woman bitten on face by dog in Bushey Ley Park

Officers say a Large black dog attacked the victim while the owner was reportedly absent

Police are seeking information following an incident in which a dog reportedly attacked a woman in Bushey Ley Park, in Welwyn Garden City.

The incident occurred between 4pm and 4:30pm on Wednesday, 30 October.

The woman was tying her shoelaces when a large black dog, described as being similar in size to a Labrador, approached and bit her face.

She managed to push the dog away, and then it ran off. The victim sustained facial injuries requiring medical treatment.

According to reports, the dog's owner was not present at the time of the attack.

Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about the dog or its owner to come forward.

A police spokesperson said: “We are appealing to the public to help us identify the owner of the dog involved in this attack. If you were in the park at the time or have any information, please get in touch.”
