Drug dealer discovered with drugs, cash and ammunition is jailed
Police executed a search warrant at the home of Mazar Ali in Oldfield Road, Bedford in February
A drug dealer, who was discovered by police with drugs worth more than £50,000, has been jailed for more than four years.
Police officers executed a search warrant at the home of Mazar Ali in Oldfield Road, Bedford on 16 February. They discovered cocaine, heroin, and cannabis along with equipment for the production of drugs and a large number of phones.
In a safe under his bed, they found almost £22,000 in cash and in a drawer in his bedroom they found a gun magazine with live ammunition.
Ali, 27, has admitted possession with intent to supply the Class A drugs heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine, and more than half a kilogramme of the Class B drug cannabis. He has also admitted possession of ammunition without a firearm and possessing criminal property.
Today (Friday) at Luton Crown Court he was sentenced to four years and three months for the drugs offences and another month for possessing ammunition
Detective Constable Adam Geary from Boson said: “It’s clear that Ali was not only supplying hard drugs around Bedford, he was also a dangerous individual in possession of ammunition for a gun. It is really pleasing to get him off the street and disrupt the supply of Class A drugs in the town.
“We’re asking anyone with any information about drug activity in their communities to tell us, so that we can put people like him behind bars. It all helps to build up an intelligence picture, helping us to reduce drug-related crime, including anti-social behaviour, in the area.”
