As part of a trial, a group of dogs will be screening people at the Medical Detection Dogs Christmas Fayre on Friday 26th November 2021.

Working with The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and Durham University, the charity has proved that dogs can detect Covid-19 on samples.

In the Milton Keynes training room, samples were detected with up to 94% accuracy. The dogs have now moved on to people in 'real world' settings.

Not only will the screening at the Fayre be a useful training exercise, but the MDD say that it 'will provide an extra layer of defence for visitors.

This will include some of the charity's clients who have complex medical conditions and are still vulnerable to the disease.
