After a police officer was assaulted in Aylesbury, a man is due in court today.

Sulaimaan Khan is accused of driving a motor vehicle dangerously and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, after an officer was injured on Southcourt in August.

The 25-year-old, from Somerville Road in Birmingham, is due at Aylesbury Crown Court.

Khan was arrested in connection with an incident at around 2.30pm on Monday 24 August in Hampden Gardens, Aylesbury in which officers attempted to stop a vehicle.

The vehicle did not stop and an officer’s foot was caught between the vehicle and a police car.

The officer received hospital treatment but has since been discharged.

Khan was remanded in custody until his court appearance.
