1,000 people test positive for COVID-19 in Dacorum
A rise in cases the last week has seen the area reach this significant total
The number of positive COVID-19 test results has reached over 1,000 in Dacorum.
There has been an increase of over 100 cases in the past week leading to the district reaching this significant milestone.
Recently Dacorum has seen an increase in infections across the borough but with a specific rise in 40-59 year old age group.
Andrew Williams, Leader of Dacorum Borough Council, said:
“It’s so important to remember that if you or any member of your household has tested positive, you have symptoms, or if you have been contacted by test and trace you must self-isolate for the required period of time.
“Self-isolating is key to stopping the spread of the disease and avoiding further lockdown measures. With more test and trace services taken on locally by Hertfordshire County Council we want to ensure that that every ‘significant contact’ of an infectedperson who needs to self-isolate is given clear guidance on what they must do to comply with the national Public Health England advice.
“We now need all residents in Dacorum to pay really close attention to the serious issue of the spread of COVID-19 within the local community. If you have any symptoms you must isolate to stop the virus spreading and infecting your friends and family.”
Advice:
If you think that you may have come into contact with someone with COVID-19 you should self-isolate for the required period of time.
If you are feeling unwell, you should call 111 or book a test via the Government website or NHS Test and Trace app.
