Climate activists are planning protests at Luton Airport today (6 November).

The "Stay Grounded" group will be demonstrating against planned airport expansions at 10 airports across the UK.

It will coincide with the Global Day of Action for Climate Justice, which will see dozens of marches across the UK.

Protests will also be happening at these airports:

Bristol (BRS)

Doncaster-Sheffield (DSA)

Gatwick (LGW)

Glasgow (GLA)

Leeds-Bradford (LBA)

London City (LCY)

Liverpool (LPL)

Manchester (MAN)

Southampton (SOU)

It is not known what form the action will take, but it is likely activists will attempt to block entrances or stage sit-ins at airport buildings.

Additional security staff will likely be deployed to monitor protests and possibly attempt to disperse activists.
