Christmas spirit in full swing on Bedgrove Street tonight
Residents are having their own Christmas light switch-on
Even though many Christmas light switch-on events have been cancelled this year, it hasn't stopped one street in Aylesbury.
Limes Avenue in Bedgrove will be getting in the festive spirit with mulled wine, mince pies and Christmas carols as they turn on their Christmas lights.
All houses along the street are invited to turn on their lights at the same time at 6:30pm.
Peter Thomas, who lives there, helped organise the celebrations tonight.
He told Greatest Hits Radio why it's so important that the whole community comes together:
"Well, it's a pretty grey day today and it's been a pretty grey year one way or another.
"So, I think it's about lifting a bit of that gloom and it's to continue that spirit of community.
"And this is a busy street, so sometimes you don't get to see people."
Peter had this message to everyone that wants to join in their festivities:
"Take the grey day away, put those lights up, enjoy Christmas for the little kids and the big kids.
"Merry Christmas from Limes Avenue."
The event will be socially distanced with families invited to sit out in their drive-ways.
