Chinnor turns green in memory of family killed in A40 crash
A minute's silence is also being held at 8pm
Last updated 19th Oct 2020
A mother and her three children from Chinnor were killed last Monday after their car and a HGV collided on the A40 in Oxfordshire.
Now, one week later the village they lived in are remembering Zoe Powell (aged 29) Phoebe Powell (aged eight) Simeon Powell (aged six) and Amelia Powell (aged four)
30-year-old Josh Powell, who was a passenger, and his 18-month old daughter, who has not been named, suffered serious injuries, but are in a stable condition at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
The Powell family were a big part of the Chinnor community and Josh is a Scout leader in the village.
Tonight (19th Oct) from 7pm the Scout Troop and their leaders are walking through the village to a candle lit vigil for Josh and his baby daughter.
Then at 8pm a one minute silence is being held in remembrance of Zoe, Phoebe, Simeon and Amelia.
Due to current Government guidelines residents have been asked to join the remembrance from inside their homes or on their doorsteps.
The village has already started to be decorated with green ribbons and lights to show support for the much loved family.
