A bus carrying school children from Milton Keynes has been involved in an incident on the A5.

Emergency services were called to the A5 in the Heath and Reach yesterday afternoon.

Bedfordshire Police say "a small number of children" had received burn injuries after a suspected leak from part of the bus.

The injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, but two children have been taken to hospital to get further treatment.

The road was closed to allow emergency services at the scene to respond to the incident, with Police, Ambulance, and Fire services all in the area.

All children on the bus not taken to hospital are safe.

The A5 later reopened.

Bedfordshire Police say the incident's been "referred to the Heath and Safety Executive for investigation."
