An online donation page has raised over £3,000 to buy renowned prisoner, Luton-born Charles Bronson, a caravan - so he can to live out a peaceful retirement.
Now based in HMP Woodhill, one of the UK's longest serving prisoners has been granted a public parole board hearing - with some hoping to generate 25 grand to help Bronson live out his dream of living in a Caravan in Devon.
Bronson - who now goes by the name Salvador - is serving a life term in Buckinghamshire, and was originally convicted of armed robbery in 1974 and has been renowned for violence ever since.
During a stint out of prison in 1987, he changed his name from Michael Gordon Peterson to Charles Bronson - and used his new identity to commit further crimes.
A string of crimes saw him in and out of prison for many subsequent years and it was not until June 2020 when a High Court ruled in his favour for the right for a public parole board hearing, set for this year.
The online donation page has garnered support from many - which aims to help Bronson "live in a caravan on a caravan site when he is released, where he can live a quiet life and do his artwork and live out the rest of this days as a pensioner."
The description of the funding site goes on to say; "Charlie has spent so many years rehabilitating himself through his artwork."
"He has made millions of pounds for charities all over the world from his artwork."
"He needs somewhere to call home, a base of his own."
"If Charlie is not released immediately we will use the caravan to give families that cant afford a holiday the chance to come down to Devon and use the caravan for free."
" We will continue to do this until the day he is released, and subject to his bail conditions he will move into his caravan when permitted by the parole and probation service."
