More than 50 cars fitted with anti-tamper screws in Dacorum
It's to prevent vehicles’ registration plates from being stolen

More than 50 people had anti-tamper screws fitted to their vehicles at a special crime prevention event in Dacorum at the weekend.
Officers from the Dacorum Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out the installations at the car park at Berkhamsted Leisure Centre in Douglas Gardens on Saturday morning (5/11).
It's part of the force's ‘PL4TE S4FE’ campaign.
Safer Neighbourhood Sergeant Sarah Anderson said: “It’s clear that local motorists appreciate our efforts to prevent their vehicles’ registration plates from being stolen by fitting anti-tamper screws."
“Theft of car number plates is both hugely inconvenient, and we know that stolen plates can subsequently be used by criminals for offences like bilking (theft of petrol) or evading speed camera fines.”
Sgt Anderson added: “We will be holding more crime prevention events in the coming months so keep an eye on our Facebook page for more information.”
