A CAR allegedly abandoned in a residential road is taking up valuable parking – and may have been used for “drug running”, it has been claimed.

A silver Renault Laguna seemingly left in Newmer Road in High Wycombe for a year is “inconveniencing” residents, many of whom “do not have driveways”, a local said.

The vehicle, which is near the junction with Gibson Road, has no tax or MOT – and despite “countless” reports to Bucks Council, remains on the street after twelve months, said a resident who declined to be named.

In addition to taking up potentially valuable parking space, the car may have been used to run drugs, they also alleged.

The resident said there is very little parking in the area and because of the situation, has in the past had to park on a grass verge after work.

“There has been a car abandoned on my street for well over a year,” they said. “The car appeared there in March 2021 and hasn’t moved since then.

“When it was in use many neighbours suspected it was used for drug running.

“The car is inconveniencing myself and my neighbours as many of the properties do not have driveways.

“There is very little off-street parking, meaning most of us park along the street and on Newmer Road as well.

“For example, when I came home from work last night, I had to park on a grass verge because there was no other parking available.

“It has no tax, no MOT. Many of us have reported this…on countless occasions to no avail.

“The council clearly doesn’t want to do anything about it despite me calling them on multiple occasions.”

Bucks Council was approached for comment.
