A 33-year-old man was arrested after class B drugs and an offensive weapon were discovered in a vehicle by officers in Watford.

On Tuesday (21/3), officers from the Watford Scorpion and Intervention teams were on patrol in the local area when they stopped a vehicle on Station Road.

Upon searching the car, 68 bags of cannabis and a baton were found and subsequently seized.

A man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Acting Neighbourhood Inspector Matt Langley said: “This was a great result following a proactive stop by officers who were out conducting patrols in the area."

"We’re committed to keeping drugs off our streets and I hope this provides reassurance to residents that we are out there, actively cracking down on suspected drug supply and associated criminality.

"Just because you can’t always see us, doesn’t mean we aren’t watching.”
