Bucks residents asked to make a cuppa for spinal injury charity
Horatio's Garden are the team behind Stoke Mandeville's Spinal Injury unit
Horatio's Garden are asking Bucks residents to support their charity this summer.
The charity behind the Spine Injury Unit's garden at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Horatio's Garden, are asking people to have a tea party and help raise funds for them.
Joanna Lumley, actress, activist and ambassador of national charity Horatio’s Garden, is encouraging people to join in to raise money for the charity who have continued to offer support despite the pandemic.
This is the third year of Horatio’s Garden Fabulous Summer Tea Party, where people are asked to fundraise.
One idea is to snap a photo of them enjoying their favourite brew. They're then asked to donate £5 to the charity, and challenge three other people to do the same.
Sharing her support for the event, Joanna Lumley said:
“Patients with spinal injuries need your support more than ever and you can make a huge difference to people facing difficult times by simply having a cuppa – or even a glass of fizz! – and donating via the Horatio’s Garden website.”
Horatio's Garden provide beautiful, accessible and specially designed gardens that provide benefits for physical rehabilitation patients and helps the psychological wellbeing of patients and staff.
Visitors are also able to use them to see their loved ones safely and in a comfortable environment, which is particularly important in the pandemic.
