Bucks schools damaged in suspected arson attack

An investigation's underway after two Buckinghamshire schools were targeted in a suspected arson attack.

Officers were called at around 9pm on Sunday night to reports of a fire at Roundwood Primary School and Tingewick Pre-School in Main Street, Tingewick.

Significant damage was caused to both schools. No one was injured.

Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Simon Mountain, based at Aylesbury police station, said:

“The investigation into this incident is still in its early stages. We are appealing to any witnesses to this, or anyone who may have information about what happened, to please come forward.

“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website.

“There will also be an increased police presence in the local area as we carry out our investigation.”
