Buckinghamshire Mind are asking locals to donate to their Spring 10k Appeal.
As well as supporting and promoting services this Mental Health Awareness Week, 10-16 May, Bucks Mind are asking for donations to their fundraiser.
The Spring 10K appeal see's the mental health charity ask locals to help them raise £10,000.
An increase in mental health problems has been seen following the pandemic but fundraising has dropped due to restrictions and lockdowns.
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, it was estimated that 1 in 4 people would experience a mental health difficulty at some point in their lives.
According to a recent Mind survey, around 50% of the UK population is now experiencing a mental health difficulty.
So today Bucks Mind are asking for a £5 donation, or whatever the individual can afford, to try and bridge the funding gap and continue their support for people struggling.
Kaya from Bucks Mind explained why its important to talk to others about mental health - and support local services:
"We have all been feeling isolated and lonely in different ways and at different stages of the pandemic.
"Some people will have experience mental health difficulties for the first time or seen someone else for through it for the first time.
"When we talk about it makes people aware of how we are all experiencing something and it encourages others to speak about their situation.
"So this week we want people to take care of their mental health, engage with others and support us if they can.
"On thing we need to highlight though is we have heard people not wanting to speak to us because they dont think their issue is important enough and they know we are busy.
"We are still running services and if you have concerns for yourself or anyone us please contact us."
