The Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire has been paying tribute to Her Majesty the Queen - as the county celebrates the Platinum Jubilee.

Lady Howe was appointed to the role back in November 2020, having spent her childhood in the county.

She tells Greatest Hits Radio that Queen Elizabeth's dedication to the role is inspirational.

"When she came to the throne, she pledged herself to the service of the nation and the Commonwealth, and she's done just that."

"She's committed her life to serving others with extraordinary grace and dignity

"I think she's held in such unparalleled respect and admiration throughout the world."

Although Lady Howe is yet to meet Her Majesty since being appointed a Lord-Lieutenant, she tells us she had the privilege of meeting her at an event years before.

"I had the chance to meet Her Majesty when she was attending a charitable event."

"She has the most wonderful aura about her of authority and engagement - she shows a great interest."
