Bucks Council hold webinar on Covid-19 vaccination
Its been put together by the council and NHS Bucks Clinical Commissioning Group
A live webinar on the Covid-19 Vaccine is being held this evening for Bucks residents.
Organised by Buckinghamshire Council and Buckinghamshire's Clinical Commissioning Group a panel of health specialists will lead the event.
Topics discussed will include facts about the vaccine, how it is being delivered in Bucks and there will also be time for questions from the public.
Dr Nicola Turner is a GP who will be speaking during the webinar, she explained it natural to feel some worry:
"In my own group of doctors and nurses when we first got the vaccine we all checked the facts, and some were more worried than others.
"It is a very very normal human reaction to want to know more.
"There is never a silly question. Often we find when one person asks it, the rest are very happy they have because its on lots of peoples minds.
"If it makes a difference to them having a vaccine or not, or its something they need answered, please ask away."
Jane O' Grady, Buckinghamshire Council's Director of Public Health, said:
"The delivery of the Covid-19 vaccination is the largest immunisation programme ever undertaken in the UK, and progress has been very positive in Buckinghamshire, with over 60% of all adults so far having been vaccinated.
"However, while this is an encouraging start, for vaccination programmes to work, they need high coverage or the virus can continue to spread. That's why I would ask anyone who is unsure about whether to have the vaccine or not to join our live online session. It's a chance to find out more about the vaccine and to have your questions answered by a panel of health specialists."
The live event takes place on Wednesday 28 April between 5:30pm - 6:45pm, and members of the public can join the event for free by clicking here.
