Buckinghamshire Council in partnership with various local businesses and organisations have won a bid to host a transport and climate event.

Taking place at Silverstone on the 10th of November, the green zone event will see various sustainable transport solutions showcased. The use of hydrogen and vehicle upcycling work will be just a few of the things featured.

Along with the council companies such as the Lunaz Group and Robert Bosch Ltd helped secure the bid and they will also be actively involved with the event.

Delegates in Glasgow will be able to watch live as Q&A sessions take place along with keynote speakers and interactive displays.

The council's long term plan is to be zero carbon by 2050 and 75% zero carbon by 2030.

Deputy Cabinet Member for Environment Cllr Jilly Cooper said "Education is important but it's awareness and of course this isn't going to happen overnight but I do think this is now gaining momentum.

I think this is one of the most important conferences that's ever been held and as a result of this, the world will start moving towards a better place and a greener place to live in."

Local secondary schools in the county have also been asked to get involved by designing a green bus. The competition winners will get to spend the day at the regional event.
