Bucks, Beds & Herts to move into tier 4 tonight

Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire will move into Tier 4 tonight.

This tighter level, similar to the national lockdown in November, comes into force after just one day under Tier 3.

The Prime Minister announced the move this afternoon, saying these restrictions will be reviewed on 30th December.

Christmas affected

The relaxation of rules over Christmas has been cut back dramatically.

Tier 4 households should not mix at all, whilst the rest of the country will only be permitted to mix on Christmas Day.

Non-essential shops and indoors gyms must close under these new measures.

Communal worship may continue.
